January Review

February 12, 2010 by evagreen · Leave a Comment

Our January show was dedicate to a place very close to our dancing hearts - EGYPT!
Rachel’s Dance School (based in Crowthorne, Berkshire) began the evening with great selection of pop, drum solo and Bollywood fusion and her students certainly did her proud!

The second part of the show was opened by Pascalle dancing to Tamra Henna showing her soft, elegant style to perfection.

Nicole Maree then came to the stage with a fabulous interpretation of Betwanes Beek and it was then the turn of Rachel to give us a stunning version of Bahlam Beek.
The only troupe of the evening, Spirit of the East Dance Company’s Michelle, Elisa, Edith and Nancy took the stage to Eva Green’s Choreography for Nebtedi min Aal Hikaya

Renowned dancer and dance event organiser Anne White then performed a charming baladi number before our Artist in Residence for January and February, Helen Ainslie, danced to a delightful oriental ‘Acquamarine of the South’

After the interval, Eva Green performed a very soulful Baed Annak before Rachel returned to the stage with a baladi El Hob Halal. More gorgeous classics with Anne White’s Laylat Hob before Helen brought the show to a close with a stunning fusion ‘Nefetari’s Dream
