SILK ROUTE

The Silk Route refers to a trade route through regions of the Asian continent, connecting both East and West Asia to Europe. The route enabled people to transport goods, especially such luxuries as silk, satins, musk and precious gemstones by linking traders for thousands of years. This trade was a significant factor in the development of the great civilizations of Egypt, China, Persia, Arabia and India amongst others.
